How do i tune my guitar in C standard?

ive been playing for about 5 months, and my tuner is basic only has the basic letters e a d g b e, it doesn't have C or F so i dont know how to tune to c standard, can anyone help me out?

i want to tune in c standard just so i can play queens of the stoneage and other bands like that

How do i tune my guitar in C standard?
Tune the E string down, holding your finger on the 2nd fret, and it will become a C when the tuner reads D. F is the same principle. Hold down 4th fret of the 5th string (A) and when the tuner reads A, the string will be F.
Reply:Tuners are fine and dandy, but you have to develop your ear.

Once you have your E strings in tune, you can find an F note by placing your finger at the first fret.

You can find a C note by placing your finger at the first fret of the 2nd string B.

I've been playing for over 40 years, and I know nothing about 'Queens of the Stone Age,' and what possible tunings they use.

If you want to tune to open C, you'd have to tune each string to one of these 3 notes...

C, E, or G. I seriously doubt you need to tune to open C to play these songs...just use standard tuning and your ear.

There are solutions to everything on guitar and multiple chord forms that would fullfill any task.

It's also possible that this band tunes to Eb. Many bands prefer this over standard tuning.

If you search the tabs for these songs, you can find some that list alternate tunings, but again, this is not neccessary.

Use your ear, experiment...you'll progress far faster.

Good luck.
Reply:either C-F-A#-D#-G-C or more often C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C
Reply:there are many websites that have "online tuners" so you can listen to the pitch of how your strings should sound and you can match your accordingly.... just type online guitar tuner or something into google :)
Reply:Tune your guitar down a tone first or you will break strings!!!
Reply:Use a piano or keyboard and tune by ear.

You can also check the web I used to know a great site but I couldn't find it now but here is this website you might be able to use, http://www.get-tuned.com/guitar_tuner.ph...
Reply:honestly....not that tough.
